The Kagorogoro Child Grow Support Center Project

Our mission

The second and most recent project that we support at Saving Dreams Int’l, Kagorogoro Child Grow Support Center (KCGC), was founded by Mrs Komuntale Yvonne Agnes Donal, James Donal’s wife.

She has been an elementary school teacher for 18 years in the Kyenjojo district. She started out feeding the neediest children at the school where she works, until she felt she had to help more deeply. She sold half of an inherited piece of land to buy a plot of land near the area where she works as a teacher.

Thus, the KCGC was born, currently housing 6 children on a permanent basis, and another 15-25 who come daily for a meal ration and seeking help paying school fees. Yvonne and her two children live at the center Monday through Friday, taking turns with her sister and other volunteers on weekends. Her work of seeking out children in need, convincing them and helping them to return to school, shows her selfless love for these fragile and vulnerable youth. This is also shown by the very caring personal treatment she shows towards the little ones, as we were able to witness in person.

How did it originate?

Yvonne requested our help in April 2023, as her salary and savings do not allow her to meet all the needs listed above.

She has also demonstrated a high entrepreneurial capacity: business plans for the other half of the inherited land. With it she seeks to finance the children’s education, improve the housing conditions at the KCGC (only 1 of the 4 rooms in the center is fully completed), reach more children, and provide for the children’s education.

At SDInt’l we have taken the decision to contribute our grain of sand to these two projects, and this on an ongoing basis, so that both James, Yvonne, and all the children who depend on their generosity, can continue to dream and, most importantly, achieve their dreams.

To this end, we need your help, which you can provide by supporting this Child Support Program.
